Had the opportunity to do my first formal photoshoot on Matt's Laser Red G35 Coupe and his friends Audi A4. Matt's ride looks awesome and pops against the graffiti walls in the background as the sun was setting. More pics HERE.
Got to ride a chartered jet for a business trip for the 3rd time in 6 months. This is a super rare opportunity for someone who isn't an Executive Senior VP. Took the camera along with me this time since I may not ever get this opportunity again. All shots were hand held (couldn't lug a tripod with me on this trip) and taken with a Nikon D40 and 18-200VR lens, ISO 800 or 1600, Aperture Priority. More pics HERE.
Did a photoshoot of Spring at a local park. Shot early in the morning just after sunrise. Used an 18-200VR and 50 f/1.4 lens with a tripod. My favorites are below, more pics HERE.
Some panning shots from Street Legal Drags at CA Speedway. Shot in shutter priority mode at either 1/80th or 1/60th of a second, ISO 800, continuous AF, with an 18-200mm VR lens and a monopod was used. Sat in the second row of the stands near the starting line. First time panning at the track, not an easy thing to do, but these shots came out pretty good. I got better as the day progressed. More photos here.
Did a photoshoot at a loading dock this morning. I'll definitely have to go back to this spot when there is more light and the orange flood lights are off. I only got to shoot for 15 minutes before a truck pulled up and needed to use the dock...go figure!

About this blog
I have been interested in photography since I was 14 and went on a whale watching trip. Took pics with my dad's SLR from the early 80s and I was hooked. When my wife and I found out we were expecting our first child, this motivated me to learn all that I could about photography. I bought a DSLR, a couple of lenses, a flash and a few filters and have never looked back. On this blog I plan to share some of the photos that I've taken. I enjoy taking pictures of people, cars, flowers, sunsets, and birds. Welcome to my photo blog! Marcus Cooke photography photos pictures
